Sighthounds typically have heads that are smaller/narrower than their necks so they can slip out of collars really easily. Having their collars high up on their necks gives them less leverage to sneak their head out. Also I think it’s a fashion thing, but I don’t have a sighthound so I could be wrong.
When I see pictures of borzois or greyhounds they always have their collars way up high on their necks, is there a reason for that?
