Please contact a qualified trainer to help you through this with your dog. Find a healthy way to interact with your dog. If your dog has experienced abuse, yelling isn’t any way to get through to her, its not a way to get through to any dog. It sounds to me like your dog is completely shut down out of fear and confusion, you will not make progress without finding someone who can help you find a better way to train your dog, and your dog will not make progress without healthier interaction.
This is going to sound bad but, I’m at a point where I’m really frustrated with my dog. She doesn’t listen AT ALL unless you are literally YELLING at her. We’ve tried baiting her with treats, possitive reinforcement, ect. and she just. Does not respond at all. You cannot even ask her to sit in a gentle/normal voice. It’s been 7 months with us, she’s been through 4 other homes and abused her whole life and we don’t want to give up on her, but we’re at wits end. I don’t know what to do anymore :(

- Idk if you’ll be able to help with this but I have a lab/gsd mix who just turned 2 years old last month, but he is just… Always. Barking. We live in an apartment complex and he just constantly barks at every person/sound he hears and he even tried to attack our neighbour once, we’ve actually thought that he’s just being protective but we really can’t have him bark constantly and attack people because we’re scared our landlord will tell us to get rid of him because of the noise complaints
