Biggest dog in shelter: Leonberger so sad doesn’t even pick up his head

He’s the biggest dog in the shelter, and even though there are some questions as to his breed, his heart aches with profound sadness, and volunteers report he won’t even pick up his head to acknowledge anyone.

I am described as a male, brown Leonberger mix. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old. I have been at the shelter since May 19, 2015. For more information about this animal, call Los Angeles County Animal Control – Carson at (310) 523-9566.

A Facebook page for this dog is available by clicking here. His stray hold expires on May 23, however there has been no interest in helping this dog. There continues to be discussion as to his breed being a Tibetan Mastiff. Either way, this gentle giant needs to be rescued, adopted or fostered.

Please share his story. Additional information is available here. Sharing saves lives as is evidenced by so many wonderful storybook endings for dogs who otherwise would never have had a chance. Forward this story, send it to your Facebook acquaintances or send it on to work colleagues. Just one special connection can save this boy’s life.
